2016 Laki's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Laki's Vineyard, Oak Knoll, Napa Valley
With 2016 being the fifth bottling of Laki’s Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, we have the opportunity to see how this vineyard expresses itself differently with each vintage. From the perfect weather and powerful wines of 2013 to the low yields and bright wines of 2015, each year has its own nuances while maintaining the core of beautiful dark fruit that makes this Cabernet Sauvignon the cornerstone of our portfolio. The 2016 vintage was generous in quantity and quality. This red and purple-hued wine is dark and delicious. Multiple layers of lush fruit carries through to the palate showcasing flavors of sweet black plums, boysenberry, and pomegranate intricately woven together by soft, velvety tannins. With delicious fruit flavors so lavishly displayed, this wine is approachable, yet simultaneously formidable with all the heft and structure needed to age. Whether poured to stand alone or paired with a hearty meal, this wine is an occasion in and of itself.

Food Pairing Notes
As the cornerstone of our portfolio, this standalone Estate Cabernet requires nothing more than a glass to pour it into making any moment special. You can also find synchronicity when you pair this wine with rich and flavorful dishes like prime rib in garlic herb butter and gruyere potatoes or a hearty homemade beef stew that has been slow cooking all day.
“I've loved working with these vines from the Oak Knoll District since 2012. I continue to be impressed with the finesse and elegance of this fine Cabernet Sauvignon. What a vintage!”
