2018 Destin Vineyard Rosé of Syrah
Oak Knoll, Napa Valley
As hints of warmer weather start trickling in, and our patience for the cold dwindles, we cannot help but focus on one of our favorite traditions: the annual release of the Eleven Eleven Rosé of Syrah. In mid-September we gathered our whole team and as many friends as we could wrangle to pick the grapes for this wine in our Destin Vineyard. We loaded all of the grapes into our press and squeezed them gently in order to not give the wine too much color. By picking earlier than we would for our Estate Syrah, we caught the grapes at the perfect moment when there is a delicate balance of acid, energy, and flavor. In the glass, aromatics abound. Scents of tangerines, strawberries, and white flowers are invigorating in their freshness while the palate reinforces that freshness with a strong backbone of acidity and flavors of peach and grapefruit zest. With all these uplifting aromas and flavors, it is clear why we love this wine so much. It is a beacon to those hot beach days with cool friends, quiet moments stolen away for yourself, and perfect afternoons outside spent eating your favorite food paired with your new favorite wine.

Food Pairing Notes
Savor this invigorating and aromatic Rosé of Syrah on a summer evening paired with a variety of fresh or barbequed oysters flavored with hot sauce, lemon or horseradish. Switch it up and experience the magic of this wine at brunch. A seasonal berry tart with a buttery crust and a rich cream filling would be the perfect compliment.
“What a beautiful example of a Rosé made with intention, boasting a delicate balance of acid, energy and flavor. A fun in the sun wine to be enjoyed all year round! My advice is one bottle is never enough!”
